Event to Feature Food Trucks, Live Music, World Record Attempt.
(COLUMBUS, OH) – The Ohio Machine, Ohio’s newest professional sports team and first Major League Lacrosse team, 200Columbus, the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Experience Columbus are hosting the Ohio Machine “Lacrosse Launch Party” on Wednesday, May 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Columbus Commons to celebrate the start of the Machine’s 2012 inaugural season.
The event will include four (4) local food trucks for lunch on the lawn, live music by 200Columbus Band Contest Finalist Earwig in the new Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion at Columbus Commons, an exclusive lacrosse demonstration and tricks by some of the best players in the world from the Machine and remarks from the team, city leaders and more.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. the Machine, 200Columbus, the Greater Columbus Sports Commission, Experience Columbus and event attendees will attempt to set the world record for the largest lacrosse game played with “200” total players. Participants who bring their own stick can preregister and receive two (2) complimentary tickets to the Ohio Machine’s home opener on Saturday, May 19th at Ohio Wesleyan’s historic Selby Stadium in Delaware. Each of the 200 participants in the game will also receive a Bicentennial souvenir T-shirt from the Machine.
The Machine brings pro lacrosse to central Ohio with its inaugural season home opener three days later on May 19th against the Rochester Rattlers at 8 p.m. at historic Selby Stadium in Delaware, OH.
