Posted June 28, 2012
If you’ve wanted to give back by volunteering but just haven’t found the right time to begin, we have the perfect opportunity for you–the upcoming Columbus Volunteer Challenge, the premier bicentennial service event.
From Saturday, August 25 through Tuesday, September 11, the City of Columbus and United Way of Central Ohio, along with numerous community partners, will bring together as many as 20,000 caring community members to make a difference in central Ohio. Volunteers will have fun while working with and for community-minded neighbors and friends to help build a community that is more inspired, proud and engaged.

Volunteer activities and opportunities taking place at nonprofit and faith-based organizations throughout the community will be listed on the Columbus Volunteer Challenge calendar at columbusvolunteerchallenge.org.
The event will culminate Tuesday, September 11 with United Way of Central Ohio’s traditional Community Care Day and National Day of Service.
